Today I Learned is a small Astro site for a chronological record of stuff I’ve learned & want to share.
Why It Is Separate
Keeping the notebook outside desertthunder.dev keeps this site lean and lets me try a different design without adding another content system here.
How It Publishes
The site uses desertthunder/til as the til/ Git submodule. A normal build reads the
dated Markdown files from that checked-out revision, keeping the notes’ writing history
independent while making the content used for a build explicit.
When the submodule is unavailable, the Astro content loader retrieves the same dated Markdown files from the public GitHub API at build time. The API is a build fallback as the submodule is the preferred source.
A part of the deployment process is to publish to my repo on the ATmosphere.
Each TIL note is a site.standard.* record.
